Credit Analyst I Job Summary
There is a lot of exciting things going on at irsch Hirsch and this position will be right at the center of it! The Credit Analyst Iis responsible for ensuring the timely collection and accurate representation of customer receivables through the proactive management of an assigned customer base and properly responding to customer inquiries and information requests. The Credit Analyst I will utilize a variety of techniques to collect the maximum amount of funds from customers, while simultaneously working to maintain positive customer relationships whenever possible.

Job Duties
Provide assistance in the processing of incoming credit applications, to obtain trade and bank references, Experian business and consumer reports and other pertinent information.
- Completion and response for requested credit references, collection letters, demand letters for payment.
- Assist Credit Manager with account reconciliations; tasks to include research and reconciliation of remaining On Account payments, identification of debit memos, short payment processing, providing service and POD copies to customers, and other needed duties
- Perform daily processing, analysis and mailing of customer invoices and credit memos
- Daily processing of credit card and ACH transactions, including preauthorization and final processing
- Process preliminary notices online, at the direction of the Credit Manager
- Weekly processing of write offs and clean-up of minor balances, including samples, breakages, service charges, minor balances, etc
- Maintain confidentiality of the company’s financial records, systems, business interests and strategy at all times
- Work with employees, customers and vendors in a way that supports the Hirsch Values
Job Requirements
- Working knowledge of current credit market conditions
- Ability to develop customer rapport
- Five+ years of relevant work experience or two years of credit and collection experience
- Proficiency in PC applications and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook Word)
- Ability to work accurately with numbers, including verification and reconciliation of billings and postings
- Ability to interact and communicate with people over the telephone, often in stressful situations
- Strong negotiation skills
- Work related experience in the wholesale industry or construction trade
- High School Diploma
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree (AA) or university equivalent with a concentration in Accounting
- Two+ years of experience in credit and collection
- Work related experience in the wholesale industry or construction trade
- Experience using a computerized point of sale or ERP system
- Knowledge of collection principles, processes, techniques, and procedures, as well as industry related collection instruments including liens, joint check agreements, and material securitization
- Strong analytical skills with ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems
