Our construction risk engineering group helps protect property, profitability and employees. Our dedicated risk engineering team offers superior project management, site safety and operational management expertise to help keep businesses on track.
In this position you will provide risk engineering and technical consultation and evaluation to underwriting to assist in the selection of new and renewal construction commercial multiline (including Workers Compensation, GL, and Auto) insurance as well as wrap programs including CCIPS and OCIPS. You will assist underwriting and insurance management in making decisions by evaluating risks, analyzing data, identifying injury/accident trends and preparing reports. You will utilize your prior construction and casualty experience to provide risk management and construction consultation services to our insureds to minimize actual and potential loss exposure. You will also provide ongoing technical support to assist our insured's in complying with safety regulations and identified exposures.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
- Coordinate and execute the delivery of Risk Management Services.
- Conduct exposure/control analysis on prospective and current clients. Conduct service capability presentations to current and prospective clients.
- Develop quantifiable exposure-based action plan for clients.
- Conduct pre-underwriting risk assessments.
- Understand customer wants and needs, recommend products and services that match their needs appropriately.
- Markets AXA XL and the Risk Control organization effectively to customers, building credibility with internal and external customers.
- Provide input to underwriting to help leverage the deal.
- Understands when it is appropriate to bring in the service or technical expertise of our specialists including specialty groups such as construction, technology and public sector.
This is a home office position for the Midwest US region that will service a large territory of multiple states in the Midwest as well as special projects on a national basis.
This role reports to the Construction Casualty Risk Engineering Manager.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
- The ideal candidate will have extensive, relevant construction industry safety management experience and will have worked with a large contractor having a broad range of direct experience with heavy civil, industrial or other similar types of projects with high level of engineering and professional requirements.
- Ability to apply construction industry experience to a broad range of customers and projects, consult effectively on a broad range of controls, and identify exposures/assess controls on complex construction accounts is required.
- Experience in Wraps, OCIPS, CCIPS, rolling wraps preferred.
- CSP, ARM, CRIS and OSHA designations preferred.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Communicates effectively with broad range of underwriting and customer partners.
- The successful candidate will listen effectively and make sound assessments/conclusions based on review of written procedures, documents, discussions, and observations.
- Makes technical information and recommendations understandable to broad range of audiences.
- Communicates in a manner that influences others to accept and take action on recommendations.
- A self starter, continually looking towards individual development.
- Ability to manage schedule and resources, continually assessing workload in light of business priorities, and directing own efforts accordingly while working in a remote work environment.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team, proactively across lines of business, and effectively with internal and external partners on special projects and furthering industry and business goals.
- Valid clear driver's license required. Traveling by airplane is also required.
