JOB LOCATION: Towson, MD

POSITION: Civil Engineer

POSITION DESCRIPTION: exp U.S. Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer with the following duties: Prepare engineering analysis, research, design, and calculations for a portion or all of the project; Design utility piping systems, duct bank systems, plan and profiles for utility relocations, replacements and utility expansions; Prepare engineering drawings utilizing AutoCAD and MicroStation drafting platforms; Assist and mentor junior engineers and drafters in preparing engineering site sketches and site-specific traffic control plans; Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in complicated traffic detour plans assisting senior project managers and project engineers; Coordinate with agencies and utilities including but not limited to: Washington Gas, Pepco, DC Water, Comcast, Verizon, DC Department of Transportation, State Highway Administration, Virginia Department of Transportations, WMATA and others; Design site specific Site Sketch and Traffic Control Plans (TCP) / Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans; Prepare project drawings, calculations, and specifications; Assist in proposals and fee estimates for projects as needed; Assist Transportation and Site Civil departments for ongoing and/or upcoming projects as needed. 100% telecommuting allowed.

REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or related field plus 2 years of related experience. Skills required: Conduct the transportation-related engineering analysis and prepare final engineering drawings in AutoCAD and MicroStation drafting platforms such as signal design, traffic impact study, safety and operational assessment, Synchro design, signal timing optimization, and pedestrian and bicycle safety study for eight Maryland public sectors including MDOT SHA and counties; Design the water sprinkler piping engineering system plan and engineering drawings of a 17000+ square foot 3-geodestic dome structure with four levels following local building codes independently; Lead a project team to prepare the engineering cost reports and coordinate with all related parties for government infrastructure projects by calculating direct and indirect construction costs using BIM modeling software; Research and integrate the signal and traffic control mechanism in theory. Up to 5% travel required.
