Our group is a vital part of Population Health and Care Management division of UHC Clinical Solutions business. We drive Product Management for critical business functions such as Population Health, Value Based Care, Quality Management and Care Management.

This role will report to the Senior Director of Capability Management for the Clinical Business Technology Strategy group. The leader will be accountable for driving the modernization strategy for our critical business service technologies through micro-products that meet the market needs speedily with the goal of iterate, evolve, and mature over time. This leader will be part of a Clinical Product Management and User Experience team that drives the vision for clinical platforms that are central to several UHC priorities. Importantly, this team is critical to the achievement of UHC’s affordability agenda which in turn helps make US Healthcare affordable.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify and document data needs for our core Population Health and Value-Based Care products including: Clinical Transformation Tool, Practice Assist, Practice Extend, and other Care Management tools
  • Support data set analysis and quality testing of clinical and claims data using tools such as DBVisualizer, SqlServer Management Studio (SSMS), other sql tools, and Excel
  • Drive the roadmap for data consolidation and information delivery that delivers VBC field operations and provider enablement capability with a goal of simplifying experience and driving improved business outcomes
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on data related to Population Health and Value Based Care. Use this knowledge to engage various stakeholders including leadership to drive clear and unambiguous decisions
  • Collaborate with technology architecture team to conduct technology assessments and ensure that technical designs are aligned with industry trends and evolving market needs. Work with technology delivery teams to ensure the solution delivery meets the desired market release window
  • Collaborate closely with extended Product Management teams responsible for functions such as provider contracts, VBC field operation teams, data (Economics, Quality/HEDIS, etc) to build consensus and influence roadmap across various business systems
  • Define the business case for new or enhanced product capabilities to ensure alignment with the strategic business goals
  • Analyze the competitive landscape and client requests for unmet market needs; define the target user personas, write product requirements and use-case scenario, and create/maintain prioritized product backlogs
  • Monitor product releases to ensure high quality and on-time delivery, and coordinate launch activities to drive commercial success
  • Build solid working relationships across UHG to determine future product direction and assist in the successful design and launch of new capabilities
  • Demonstrate solid and effective communication skills
  • Help leader with identifying and recruiting best talent for the data product

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of health care or IT business experience or related background with proven track record in product/program management; any formal training or certification is a plus
  • 5+ years of solid SME Knowledge of one of the Healthcare areas like Quality, Utilization, Claims, etc.
  • 5+ years as a Product Manager with a niche focus on IT and healthcare
  • Proven consultation and relationship management skills at the technical and business leadership level
  • Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Solid analysis skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aha and/or Rally CA (Agile) experience
  • Snowflake experience

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California/Colorado/Connecticut/Nevada/New York/Rhode Island/Washington residents is $85,000 to $167,300. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
