The expected pay range for this position is $90,000 to $140,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
The Business intelligence (Bl) Analyst is a key member of the Information Delivery, Management and Architecture (IDMA) team within the Financial Management Services (FMS) group. This role works for the production support manager who acts as the primary liaison between IDMA and technical development team at each stage in the BI Development Lifecycle. The Bl Analyst focuses on support and further enhancement of existing Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI) Financial dashboard reports and ad hoc subject areas, and also contributes to the development of new BI solutions by either delivering OBI ad hoc reports directly to users or participating on project teams as part of larger initiatives. This role interfaces with a broad set of stakeholders, from business owners in central units to managers and analysts in distributed business units.
CORE DUTIES*:
Duties, Responsibilities and Role:
- Prioritize and manage the operational support queue by working closely with the technical development team to rapidly address production support issues and improve the existing OBI Financial dashboards, reports, and ad hoc subject areas.
- Ensure that priorities are well-documented and executed on, with partnership between the business and technical teams.
- Manage User Acceptance Testing for issues and enhancements, and design and execute effective and efficient Bl test cases.
- Develop OBI ad hoc reports as needed.
- Facilitate working sessions with central and distributed users and managers to identify and document business needs for financial reporting.
- Contribute to the development of key project deliverables and artifacts such as business requirements documents, functional design documents, fit/gap analyses, and report mockups.
- Work closely with BI data architects and developers to ensure solutions meet all functional business needs.
- Facilitate and support the use and development of Oracle Business Intelligence Analysis-based reports and dashboards for central and distributed use cases.
- Support ongoing training for end users, including responding to Service Requests and participating in OBI Open Labs.
- Function as a backup to the main ServiceNow support analyst:
- Help to prioritize and manage the ServiceNow OBI Financial Reporting queue. Function as the liaison between IDMA and the Financial Support Center (FSC).
- Attend recurring meetings with FSC and work closely to resolve Financial Reporting related issues when needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. Experience in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, statistics or engineering
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Five years of experience in data management preferably with financial data
- Strong analytical capabilities, critical thinking skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience eliciting, interpreting, and documenting business requirements preferably in the context of Bl or reporting initiatives.
- Prior success in positions requiring indirect leadership and high levels of self-directed work
- Proven experience in facilitating large and diverse groups.
- Demonstrated experience with Business Intelligence tools.
- Proven experience in designing and/or delivering interactive reporting solutions
- Expertise in MS Excel and extensive use of its advanced analytical capabilities including pivot tables and lookup and reference formulas.
- Experience with Oracle Business Intelligence Analysis Ad hoc reports development highly preferred
- SQL, data analysis, and data visualization skills preferred.
- Experience with Oracle E-Business is a plus.
- Previous higher education and Stanford University experience preferred.
