JOB SUMMARY: The Bookkeeper will be accounting, auditing financial records, updating statements, and recording financial transactions. The records the clerk will be working with are -but not limited to- expenditures (money spent), receipts (money that comes in), accounts payable (bills to be paid), accounts receivable (invoices,), and profit and loss (reports focuses on the company’s financial status).
Company overview:
The Bookkeeper will represent our company, Quick Hands Logistics. Quick Hands Logistics is a third-party lumping and yard jockey service located in Southern California. We operate in Riverside County, San Bernardino County, and OC/LB County.
Responsibilities:
· Take time to fully comprehend the organization structure and processes.
· Use company’s bookkeeping software, spreadsheets, and databases correctly.
· Enter post financial transactions into the appropriate software and company.
· Put costs (debits) and income (credits) into the software, assigning each to an appropriate account
· Produce reports, such as balance sheets (costs compared with income), income statements, monthly invoice statements, tax reports and totals by account
· Check for accuracy in figures, postings, and reports and take appropriate action when inconsistencies are found
· Stays up to date with tax and accounting rules, especially those that apply to California and ensure we are compliant legal requirements
· Produce financial statements and other reports for supervisors and managers when needed
· Developing systems to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts
· Prepare bank deposits by compiling data from cashiers, verifying receipts, and sending cash, checks, or other forms of payment to the bank.
- Works on special projects when needed
Requirements:
· Minimum of five years of experience in accounting/bookkeeping or a BA in accounting or finance
· Minimum of four years of experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
· Proactive work ethic and the ability to manage deadlines and priorities in busy environments.
· Strong finance, statistics, mathematics, data entry, analytical accounting practices
· Comfortable in advising CEO of smart financial decisions
· Proficient in the use of modern technology
· Strong research and reporting skills and able to explain such reports/finding smoothly
· CPA is a plus
· Strong attention to detail and ability to learn from mistakes when applicable
· Strong sense of confidentiality and professionalism
· Able to work autonomously and with a team
Base Salary: $25 - $30 an hour
