This position will be required to produce the majority of sales through self-generated effort- networking, cold-calling, telemarketing, etc. Assistance to be provided by direct manager, operations, quality assurance, VP, etc. Because this is not a lead-driven position, the compensation is extremely high and considerably above industry standards. We are not looking for someone to sit back and collect. Rather, we are looking for a hunter and are compensating accordingly. Please do not show interest unless you know how to hunt for business!
The ideal candidate must be dependable, ethical, and have a desire to succeed. This position requires you to be well organized, detail-oriented and self-motivated. Providing excellent customer service with a friendly and positive attitude is a must!
Duties include:
- Prospect and develop new business relationships through cold-calling, telemarketing and networking
- Identify and connect with decision maker(s) and influencer(s) to gain buy-in from them
- Inspect commercial accounts for current needs and service deficiencies to provide recommended service programs and options
- Presentation of proposed services through in-person sales presentations and electronic communications
- Close self-generated and lead-driven business opportunities
- Communicate service setups with office to ensure accounts are set up properly
- Cross-sell existing and created customers- lawn, termite, pest
- Refer residential business to local residential sales representatives
- Manage and grow a dedicated sales territory
- Establish effective working relationships with a variety of industries (healthcare, manufacturing and distribution, property management and hospitality to name a few)
- Work directly with operations for support, technical assistance and account management
- Problem solving and/or complaint resolution
- Documentation of accounts (new, status, follow ups, etc.) through internal CRM program
- 5-10% travel or more (open territories)
- 40+ hours per week expected
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Two or more years of experience in business-to-business (B2B) outside sales; proven sales history with increasing sales production year after year
Preferred:
- 5+ years of B2B outside sales
- Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree
- Pest Control Industry Experience
- Certified Operator
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrate knowledge of selling techniques (prospecting, overcoming objections, presentation skills, gaining commitment, negotiation)
- Skill in being self-motivated and managing your schedule
- Skill in written and verbal communication
- Ability to build customer relationships and provide appropriate levels of customer service
- Business acumen and the ability to calculate numbers and amounts
- Skill with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Skill in adapting to new company software
- Skill in using the internet to research target industries and specific businesses
- Ability to travel locally on an extensive basis
- Ability to travel to other parts of the state 5-10%
- Ability to orient and train in Jacksonville, FL for a period of 1-2 weeks
This is a "Hunter" position that requires an entrepreneurial mindset. You must be a self-starter with the ability to grow a network of business contacts. Experience in B2B networking, lead generation and pipeline management is a must.
