Position Focus:
Provides high-level strategic thinking, writing, and coordination to enhance the schools' fundraising efforts. Develops and administers annual fundraising programs in close coordination with the Yale Alumni Fund team. Helps in the recruitment, training, and support of annual fund volunteers. Works with the Director and Senior Director and the deans of the respective schools to determine fundraising goals. Serves as a partner for the Director and Senior Director in the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of leadership and major gifts donors. Manages a portfolio of individual donors. Partners with the Directors in building engagement tools for alumni and prospects. Drafts and maintains written development information and content for GSAS and SEAS assisting the Director and Senior Director in building and maintaining relationships with—and providing school-related information to—development staff across campus. Writes and edits a full range of materials for use in fundraising activities, including correspondence, proposals, stewardship reports, brochures, briefings, gift acknowledgements, donor recognition, and endowed gift agreements. Oversees and improves comprehensive stewardship efforts, planning and coordinating, with appropriate staff, the stewardship and acknowledgement of gifts and endowed funds. Works with the staff at GSAS and SEAS to ensure consistent messaging and to identify opportunities to collaborate. Assists implementing an alumni engagement strategy. Helps to staff development and alumni relations events for the schools. Prepares reports and analyzes data related to development at the direction of the Director and Senior Director and the respective deans. Helps identify volunteers to fill leadership roles and develop opportunities for these individuals to become increasingly involved in support of development priorities. Supervises the work of the shared staff member responsible for administrative support. May represent GSAS and SEAS fundraising programs at school and Office of Development meetings. May serve as an ambassador of the schools at public functions, reunion gatherings, and other university events. Serves on committees and attends meetings as assigned.
