Position: Assistant Director, Family Service Division
Hours: Full-time 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday) and 10:00 am to 6:00 pm (Thursday) with occasional evenings and weekends, as needed

Full Job Description
When you join our team as an Assistant Director, you will:
- Assist the Director, Family Service Division in leading case managers and home visitors' staff, supporting families, and achieving enrollment goals, community outreach, and operational objectives.
- Partner with parents with a shared desire to provide the best family support and care for them and for their children
- Cultivate positive relationships with families, family support services staff, state authorities, community contacts, and corporate partners
- Serve in various roles throughout the family support services division as needed, including leading groups and developing new partnerships
- Plan and facilitate recreational activities for FRC/parenting program participants.
- Participate in targeted outreach in coordination with volunteers and childcare workers.
- Participate in citywide events and outreach at various non-profits, school open houses, and others at regularly scheduled times.
- Reach out to appropriate referral sources to secure referrals and enroll in
LifeScene
- Attend and participate in all required training
Family Resource Center and Parenting Education
- Lead parenting education workshops in English and Spanish to parents of 1 month to 12 yr. old using an evidence-based curriculum The Incredible Years, and the
Parenting Journey.
- Provide direct parenting education workshops, coaching, and information and referral services to interested parents.
- Lead the agency support group for Latino women.
- Implement evidence-based programs including Incredible Years, All Babies Cry
Curriculum, ASQ, SBPI, AAPI, Raising a Reader, Positive Discipline, and others.
- Coordinate and establish links to community support partners and service providers for food, clothing, early intervention, shelter, mental health and/or substance abuse treatment, and other services. Work with families to identify and obtain existing support services in the local area.
- Develop and maintain a staffing schedule for the FRC programs.
- Provide individual supervision to FRC staff.
- Oversee the daily activities of the FRC.
- Create and maintain a yearlong FRC calendar.
- Facilitate weekly childcare staff meetings.

- Provides individual supervision to YPS case managers.
- Manages the intake process and assigns cases to YPS case managers
- Maintain and monitor participant files manually and electronically according to

LifeScene, and DCF standards.
- Maintain and implement all appropriate evaluation tools as instructed.
- Develop, plan, and implement strategies for program continuation and growth.
- Leads and supports program directors in their relationships with funding sources.
- Monitors the program requirements set forth by the different departments that fund LifeScene family service programs including United Way, DCF, DPH, foundations, and others.
- Acts as the primary liaison with the YPS Program contract manager.
Minimum Qualifications, Skills, Education, and Experience:
- Candidates will have a bachelor’s degree, preferably
- At least five years of leading programs focused on children and families experience required, with an understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and the ability to ensure their use in all program activities
- Must be Fluently Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Experience in the provision of primary family-centered, strength- and home-based services.
- Knowledge of infant, child, and family development
- Ability to provide leadership, set program goals and objectives, make difficult decisions, remain flexible and supportive of workers’ tasks, and be consistent and calm during crises.
- Ability to establish trusting relationships and work effectively with staff members, community partners, parents, and extended family
- Five years of direct experience with families, including work in the field of child development, family case management, and previous supervisory experience A love for supporting youth, children, and families and a strong desire to make a difference everyday
- Excellent administrative, organizational, verbal, listening, and communication skills required
- CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of
40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors. Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity.
