The Area Director of Operations (ADO) directs, administers, and coordinates the operations of their assigned Area in accordance with established policies, goals, and objectives.

Responsibilities:
Operations
  • Directs operations within their assigned Area to achieve budgeted results and meet or exceed other financial targets.
  • Implements procedures and controls, to assure adequate information flow, management oversight and direction of the Area.
  • Appraises and evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and systematically, and reports these results to the VPO/COO regularly.
  • Integrates newly acquired Centers into existing operating Area, as directed.
Compliance
  • Ensures that all activities and operations are performed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.
Operating Team
  • Strengthens the Company culture within the assigned Centers.
  • Finds and retains high quality professionals using the “heart test” to select leaders well suited for our business.
  • Develops a strong operational team which works together to achieve Company goals, resulting in enhanced patient/resident outcomes.
Budgeting
  • Maintains accountability for, and working knowledge of the operating budget and financial performance of the Area.
  • Work with VPO/COO to oversee development of the annual budget and monitor income and expenditures throughout the year to ensure conformance to budget.
  • Effectively manage staffing and labor within the Centers so as to meet budget parameters.
Environmental
  • Assures that Diversicare buildings are maintained and improved to meet patient’s and resident’s needs.
  • Provides a safe environment for patients, residents, and team members.
Risk Management
  • Proactively works to prevent and mitigate risk within Center operations.
  • Implements company programs to prevent and address falls, pressure ulcers and other forms of clinical risk.
Clinical Services
  • Assures that clinical guidelines and standards are implemented to ensure that the care provided is of the highest quality.

Sales and Marketing
  • Provides leadership for the Area’s overall sales and marketing strategy.
Leadership
  • ADO promotes the Company’s culture as well as team member motivation and retention.
  • Serves as the leader who motivates and develops a strong team of team members who will carry out the Company’s plans and mission.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited and recognized institution of learning.
  • An active Nursing Home Administrator license
  • Minimum of five (5) years of management experience in nursing home operations.
  • Demonstrated leader in multi-site nursing home management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated supervisory experience in motivating, leading, setting priorities, and managing performance of a multidisciplinary team
