This position is located at the SC Dept. of Mental Health at Santee-Wateree Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) in the Camden Clinic, located on 2611 Liberty Hill Road, Camden, SC. 29020, in the Administrative services division.
Under general supervision of the Kershaw County Office Manager, manages access to clinical records via the EMR in accordance with HIPPA, SCDMH and Santee-Wateree CMHC policies and procedures. Assist with the other administrative tasks as needed by the office manager, counselors, doctors, and nurses of the front office of the Kershaw Adult and CAF Services Clinic. Serves as backup as needed for smooth operations.
Receive and process requests for client information from electronic medical records. Process and send information to requestors via mail or electronically. Maintain spreadsheet of records/documents requested and sent.
Scan medical records to EMR client records. Receive, relays and files faxed and mailed continuity of care information including hospital admissions and discharge, lab reports etc. to and from clinicians and clinical staff.
Review the clinical records for closure, close records in CIS for intake and information request from other agencies.
Serve as backup for front office staff in answering phones, directing incoming calls, scheduling, rescheduling, and cancelling clients’ appointments with staff as needed.
Complies with SCDMH Corporate Compliance Plan and SWCMHC Corporate Compliance policy and documentation practices are in compliance with policy.
Perform other administrative duties as required. Travel throughout the Santee-Wateree CMHC catchment area as directed.


State Min. T&E - A HS Diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.
DMH Min. T&E (Internal) - A high school diploma and two years of clerical experience; or an associate degree in secretarial science of other related field, or three years clerical experience.
A valid driver's license.
