Adjunct in Physician Assistant Studies

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION


Northeastern State University (NSU) invites applications for an adjunct position – Anatomy Instructor in the Physician Assistant Studies program at NSU.
The program has been granted Accreditation-Provisional status by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant Education (ARC-PA). The program emphasizes preparing students for rural practice. The PA program is housed on the NSU Muskogee campus.

RESPONSIBILITIES


The adjunct faculty reports to the Program Director; duties include:
Teaching Clinical Anatomy including cadaver anatomy lab.
Work closely and collaboratively with other full-time faculty members, and medical director staff to ensure curriculum meets current practice standards and scope, and is in compliance with ARC-PA requirements.

EXPERIENCE


Certified by the Anatomical State Board of Oklahoma to teach a cadaver anatomy lab.
A minimum of 2 years teaching functional or gross anatomy using cadavers.
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and writing);
basic PC knowledge and skills.
Ability to work independently and as a team member as well as a commitment to maintaining high professional standards, teaching excellence, and to encouraging student engagement in the learning process.

Education Requirements


Master’s degree in appropriate discipline required to teach in the Physician Assistant Studies program; doctorate preferred.

COMPENSATION


Non-tenure track $1,250.00 per credit hour.

Projected hire date October 2, 2023
