Essential Functions:
- Process company payroll timely and accurately. Reconcile monthly bank statements according to payroll records.
- Monitor the payroll system ensuring any updates/upgrades are made to keep processes running smoothly.
- Assist with all payroll accounting, transactions, and reporting.
- Review all payroll reports and timesheets for accuracy prior to processing payroll; ensure wages and benefits are properly distributed and partners with both management and employee for any adjustments needed.
- Ensure that expense reimbursements are recorded, documented and paid out timely in conjunction with payroll procedures.
- Monitor accurate taxation and garnishments are applied; make modifications and/or updates timely and as submitted.
- Maintain the personnel database and oversees salary changes, compensations, deductions, and bonuses for employees. Works with any payroll vendors/partners ensuring the system is set up correctly
- Participate in the month end closing processes and any audits within the Finance Department.
- Conduct year-end reporting for W-2s.
- Complete all certified payroll processing to include; prevailing wage calculations, certified payroll processing and submitting, and any Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) payroll forms.
- Enter accurate time daily on timesheet; providing a real time visual to company management.
Position Requirements:
- 3+ years with payroll and accounting
- 2+ years with prevailing wage in California
- high school diploma (or equivalent), valid California Driver License and proof of auto insurance.
We also conduct pre-employment drug screening in accordance with Federal Contractor regulations and background checks in accordance with State and local regulations.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Ability to make repetitive movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, daily
- Ability to walk, bend, stoop, hear, and speak, daily
- Move/Transport items weighing 20 pounds, occasionally
- Stand or sit for long periods (4+ hours), daily
- Work is performed in an office environment
